These new RM 022 Tourbillon Aerodyne Dual Time Red-White-Blue timepieces are named after the colors red. white. and blue. Their cases are made of ultra strong and light quartz TPT on the front and back. and carbon TPT on the middle. If quartz TPT sounds familiar. it's because it's used in many Richard Mille watches. including the recently released RM 67-02 Alexander Zverev Edition. To make the bright cases you see here. thin quartz fibers no thicker than 45 microns are first aligned and saturated in colored resins. then heated and subjected to a pressure of 6 bar before being machined at Richard Mille's factory. The Calibre RM022 movement is hand wound and has a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. It goes without saying that it is hand finished extensively. with beveled bridges and plates. as well as graining and polishing treatments on numerous parts.
